In “Snow White”, director Dr. GoraParasit presents an interpretation of the Brothers Grimm’s fairy tale set against the backdrop of glacial mythology.

The soundtrack for “Snow White” stems from witnessing climate change in remote, fragile areas, specifically the decline of glaciers, and how these inevitable realities are hidden, excluded, and denied in our everyday lives. Instead, we continue to exist within fantastical narratives of comfort, albeit in fragile existence. The compositions reverberate between realism and science fiction, between material and imagined. The soundtrack consists of various motifs, including soundscapes, synthetic sounds, voice manipulation, musical themes, performative lectures, and DJ sets. The compositions themselves serve as a collage of sonic moments, aiming to reflect the visual and narrative dynamics of the play.

“Snow White” was premiered 1st December 2023 at Kaunas National Theatre.
